Glitter Tips Gleeq Week - Day 5

Today is Day 5 and the final day of Gleeq Week!
I wanted to do something a little softer today so I went for a pale pink base and the light gold Glequins.

I'm not sure how well you can see it, but it's supposed to be a bow.
I started with the bow on the ring finger then made the ribbon ends loop and trail across the rest of the nails.
The base colour is two coats of Barry M Baby Pink over two coats of Matt White.

You can purchase the set of Glequins I have been using this week from the Born Pretty Store HERE for $6.45 with free delivery. Don't forget to use the code QPL91 to get 10% off your order. The code will remain up in my sidebar for you to use anytime you might want to make a Born Pretty Store order!

I hope you have enjoyed Gleeq Week and it has given you some ideas of how Glequins can be used, I have had so much fun playing with them this week that they have become a firm favourite and a staple in my nail art draw! I will most definitely be reaching for them regularly.

The New 31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 4 - Pink

Day 4 of The New 31 Day Nail Challenge is Pink!
If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I love pink, it is my favourite colour so I have quite a few pink polishes so the biggest challenge was picking one!
I decided to go with one I haven't used yet.

This is where I start to look bad.
My untried pink is No 7 Stay Perfect in Sugar, from the Spring 2011 collection.
I've had it almost two years and it was still untried.
Whoops.

Anyway, I used three coats of Sugar on all but my ring finger, which I used Barry M Matt White.
Then I framed all the nails with Barry M's Boots Xmas Limited Edition 2012 Gold polish, which, as the name might suggest, is one of two limited edition polishes they released for Xmas 2012 in Boots, the other was a Pink which I still haven't been able to find anywhere :-(. Barry M also released two LE polishes in Superdrug at the same time.
To finish off I added the little roses on the ring finger using Sugar and Barry M Shocking Pink, then a mix of Barry M Spring Green and Lime Green for the leaves.

Day 5 of the challenge is Purple!
What to do?

Lazy 15 Nail Challenge - Day 6 Favourite Colour

It's Day 6 of the Lazy 15 Challenge!
Today's challenge is Favourite Colour which for me is pink.

I have a feeling the colour pink is going to be quite popular for todays challenge!
I have always loved pink, I went through a phase in my teens of pretending to hate it because it just wasn't cool to like pink. Then when I had my daughter in my early 20's it seemed like my entire life turned pink! Any other mums find that? As soon as you have a baby girl you live in this sort of pink haze for at least 2-3 years. My daughter is almost 6 now and is slowly starting to realise there are other colours!
Also my wedding, two and a half years ago, was pink. Not bright in your face pink, it was a soft dusky, vintage, pale pink. My absolute favourite shade of pink.

Which brings me on to the nails.

I got the idea for these nails from THIS YouTube video by JaeMarie2008 who has loads of fab nail art that you might like on her channel.

I did this a little differently to the video.
First I taped off the triangle st the cuticle. Then I applied two coats of Boots 17 Sweet Kisses and removed the tape. When that had dried I re-taped them and applied Barry M Rose Quartz Glitter with a small nail art brush, arranging the glitter in a gradient effect. Then to tidy up the edge I finished with a line of Barry M Pink Silver Glitter at the edge and topcoated with Seche Vite.

I kinda wish I had these nails for my actual wedding as they would have been perfect but I wasn't into nail art at all then!

Next up for Day 7 of the Lazy 15 Challenge is Feminine Nails.
