China Glaze - Capitol Colors - Electrify

Last but by no means least I have China Glaze Electrify to show you today.

Electrify represents District 5 Power.

Electrify is a clear base with gold and red glitter, gold being the more prominent.
It has good coverage, this was 3 coats with no topcoat, and although the nail is still visible in parts I didn't feel the need for another coat.
I do love me a good glitter polish!

The other four colours in the Capitol Colors collection are Fois Gras, Dress Me Up, Mahogany Magic and Hook & Line.
I have to say I'm tempted by Fois Gras and Dress Me Up, I may still buy them. My only issue is if I buy those two I feel like I might as well complete the collection and I'm really not liking the look of Mahogany Magic or Hook & Line...
But what if I need them?

China Glaze - Capitol Colors - Stone Cold

Next up from my Capitol Colors purchases is Stone Cold.

Stone Cold represents District 2 Masonry.

(Lets's not talk about my ridged nails.)

Stone Cold is a graphite grey glitter matte.
Application was good, as with most if not all mattes, it dried quickly so speedy application is a must for even coverage. Having said that, this was one coat.
I applied some Seche Vite to see what it looked like glossy and I have to say I like it a lot, but I prefer it matte!

China Glaze - Capitol Colors - Riveting

Today I have China Glaze Riveting to show you.

Riveting represents District 3 Technology and is something special!

The photos don't do this beauty enough justice.
It is a stunningly fiery orange jelly, with gold glass fleck shimmer. It just glows!
I applied 2 coats, it applied beautifully. I could still see nail line in person but it didn't bother me, the gorgeousness of the colour distracted from it!
I predict this being on my fingers and toes an awful lot this summer!

China Glaze - Capitol Colors - Agro

Next of my China Glaze Capitol Colors purchases to show you is Agro.

Agro represents District 11 Agriculture.
It is a lovely, slightly metallic, rich olive green with gold shimmer

This my friends, was one coat.
Application was lovely, due to it being slightly metallic there were some brush strokes but not enough to put me off.
I don't usually like earthy greens on me but I do like Agro and I can see myself wearing this a lot in the Autumn so I'm really pleased I picked this one up.

China Glaze - Capitol Colors - Luxe & Lush

Good afternoon!
I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far?
I am starting feeling healthier now I'm almost recovered from my cold, I could do with catching up on some sleep but that won't be happening while the Mini Tips are home!

I thought I'd better get cracking with the rest of my Capitol Colors polishes so today I have China Glaze Luxe & Lush to show you.

Ooh, sparkly.
Luxe & Lush represents District 1 Luxury.
It's a gorgeous flakie topcoat, to me it looks like shards of broken iridescent glass.

I have applied two coats over Barry M Black to show it off a bit better.
It flashes firey orange, blue, green and pink in different lights.

Seriously so pretty!
I can't believe I almost didn't buy this one!

China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes

Last night I went to see The Hunger Games and I loved it!
I was a bit worried that the film was going to disappoint me because I liked the books so much, however it was just what I hoped it would be, a few small changes but everything else stayed true to the book!

So today I decided to show you Smoke and Ashes.

Smoke and Ashes represents District 12 Coal Mining.
It is a dark teal-black base with teeny tiny blue/green/gold flakies. I applies two coats with zero problems.

I can see me wearing this one a lot come Autumn/Winter!

China Glaze - Harvest Moon

The weekend at last!
This week has seriously dragged for me, probably because I've been looking forward all week to finally going to see The Hunger Games tonight!
Very excited!
Hopefully I will have sometime between swimming lessons and a trip to the park to to some Katniss inspired nails for the evening, but we shall see!

Today however, I will show you Harvest Moon.

Harvest Moon represents District 9 Grain. It is a beautiful, rich, burnt copper foil.
To me it is a perfect Autumn colour.
I applied two coats and it was an absolute dream to apply.

Just look at it shimmer in the sun!
Really very beautiful.

China Glaze - Fast Track

I was going to show you my black and white nails today for the 31 day nail challenge but my camera has mysteriously stopped cooperating with my laptop so until I can coerce the two into working harmoniously together once again I shall just have to make do with what I've got on the computer already!

I decided I'd start off the Capitol Colors swatches with my personal favourite Fast Track.

Fast Tract is representative of District 6 Transportation. I don't see the link between the colour and the district myself but my goodness this colour is pretty.

It is a nude/beige colour jam packed with shimmering gold flecks. I love my nude shades anyway, but Fast track is something special, especially when the sun hits it!

I have added this to my list of polishes not to wear when driving, so pretty it's actually distracting.

Next time I will show you Harvest Moon, and hopefully I can get the pictures of my black and white nails off my camera to show you this weekend too!

China Glaze Capitol Colors

I love The Hunger Games books.
I was so hooked from page one I read all three books in just under a week. That's quite an accomplishment for me what with school runs to do, lunches to make and finger painting children to clean up after!

I was very excited to get my hands on 8 of the 12 polishes from the China Glaze Capitol Colors collection. I'm still in two minds as to if I really want the other four, the more swatches I see the more they are growing on me, so we'll see if I cave.

Here are the ones I could not resist.

Fast Track, Smoke & Ashes, Harvest Moon, Luxe & Lush.

Agro, Riveting, Stone Cold, Electrify.

They are all so gorgeous!
I have lots of swatches ready and waiting to post over the next couple of days so you can see for yourself!
