Lazy 15 Nail Challenge - Day 5 Galaxy Nails

Today is Day 5 of the Lazy 15 Nail Challenge and the challenge is Galaxy Nails!
I warn you now this is slightly picture heavy.
I love love love galaxy nails! They are fun, they are easy and they look amazing.
What's not to love?

I decided to do these galaxy nails a little different to the last ones I did (HERE).
Last time I tried to actually mimic galaxy shapes from images I had found on Google.
This time I wanted to do something a little bit less structured if that makes any sense?
This is where Google Images came in handy once again, I found three images that I liked (which I will include at the end of the post) and went about searching my nail polish collection.

I started pulling out some colours that I thought might work well then I remembered this post over on Truly Madly Beauty where the lovely Aysh layered Models Own Hayley's Comet over a black nail polish and it gave me an idea!

Makeup Savvy 15 Day Nail Challenge - Day 4 - Galaxy

It's day 4 of the Makeup Savvy 15 Day Nail Challenge and I am really enjoying it!
Todays challenge was Galaxy Nails, another nail trend I was yet to try. Every time I saw another amazing galaxy nail on Pinterest, YouTube or Blogs I just thought I would end up in a blobby mess of glitter and colour. But I cannot tell you enough how easy these are to do!

I started off with one coat of Barry M Black Multi Glitter, then I tore small chunks off a kitchen sponge and used a White polish to sponge on the general shape I wanted for each 'Galaxy'.
Then on my Index and Ring fingers I sponged on Missguided Misslead and Nails Inc New Burlington Place. On the Thumb and Pinky I used Barry M Berry Ice Cream and Accessorize Purple Dream, then lastly for the Middle finger I used Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, Navy and Models Own Aqua Violet from the Beetle Juice collection.
Once all that was dry I used my smallest dotting tool and White polish to do some clusters of small starts then a slightly larger dotting tool to do a few larger stars, then with a fine nail art brush I picked one larger star on each nail to be my shining star and added some starburst lines. Then finally I used a tiny bit of China Glaze Fairy Dust and sponged it on to fill in some of the gaps.

A lot of different colours I know but only a tiny bit of each was used and it was so quick to do!

I am so pleased with how these turned out and an added bonus, even Mr GT stopped, put down the Xbox controller and said 'They are awesome' then went back to his game.
Now that's a compliment!
