Inspired By - NOTD

Sorry for the lack of posting recently, it seems I forgot how hectic the first few weeks of back to school can be! Especially when one of the critters is only doing half days for the moment. 

Hopefully now I'm getting back into the swing of things I'll be able to put some more time aside for nails.

Todays nails were inspired by some cushions my Mum gave me at the weekend.

My bedroom is decorated in shades of grey and silver and the other day my Mum gave me a couple of cushions that used to be in her room as they match my bedding so well and I thought the pattern would make for a nice mani!

I used the cushion as the back ground for these photos so you can get an idea of what I was working from.

I really like how soft these look. I'm not quite ready to pull my darker shades out for the Autumn but I'm starting to feel less and less summery everyday so I think the leafy pattern with the pale grey and silver make a nice compromise for this in between stage!

The colours used are - 

Base - Nails Inc Charlotte Street.

Pattern - Barry M Matt White and Silver Foil.

Makeup Savvy 15 Day Nail Challenge - Day 6 - Glitter

I mentioned in yesterdays post that today is my little boys 4th birthday!

Time flies when you are having fun!

Every year on the kids birthdays we spend the night before blowing up balloons and putting them in their rooms so they wake in the morning to a floor covered in balloons, so today's nails were inspired by that!

Bright glittery balloons!

The colours used are Barry M Bright Red and Red Glitter on the thumb.

Barry M Teal and Aqua Glitter on the index.

GOSH Gold and Barry M Gold Glitter on the middle.

Barry M Shocking Pink and Magenta Glitter on the ring.

Barry Spring Green and Green Glitter on the pinky.

Then Barry M Silver Foil for the balloon strings.

These looked better in my head than they do on the nail but I'm still happy with them and more importantly, the birthday boy says they are 'super nails!'.

31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 7 - Black And White Nails

Hurrah!

I got my camera to work with my computer again! Don't ask me how though, as far as I am aware I did nothing different to what I was doing before but today it's working!?

Baffling. On to the nails!

Day 7 of the challenge is Black and White Nails and here's what I did.

Zebra tips.

Please excise the ring finger, it took a knock just after I applied the topcoat and there was no way I was starting over!

I used Boots 17 Mini Skirt for the white tips, Barry M Black for the zebra stripes and Barry M Silver Foil Effect for the silver line, then topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.
